Institutul de sondare a opiniei publice GFK Romania a dat in judecata Realitatea Media, societate ce detine Realitatea TV a lui Sorin Ovidiu Vantu, pentru recuperarea unei datorii de 86.000 de lei. Suma nu este mare, insa ea reflecta problemele din ce in ce mai mari pe care le au companiile patronate de Vantu.
De aproape doi ani de zile, GFK incearca sa-si recupereze banii de la Realitatea Media, fara succes insa, asa ca a apelat la Justitie, mai ales ca in piata au aparut tot mai multe informatii despre posibilul faliment al televiziunii de stiri. In 2008 si 2009, GFK Romania a incheiat doua contracte cu Realitatea Media pentru furnizarea unor studii de cercetare a pietei, prin sondaje realizate online sau prin focus-grupuri, pentru a afla audienta postului The Money Channel, precum si nivelul concurentei venite din partea rivalului Antena 3.
GFK sustine ca a predat studiile de piata comandate de Realitatea, dar nu a mai primit contravaloarea acestora. GFK mai arata in dosarul depus la Judecatoria Sectorului 1 din Bucuresti ca a incercat sa afle motivele pentru care nu si-a primit banii, insa cei de la Realitatea au refuzat orice dialog.
Recent, Sorin Ovidiu Vantu a declarat pentru Adevarul.ro ca toate proiectele sale media din Romania sunt blocate si va investi doar in Republica Moldova.
In ultima perioada, cele doua principale companii ale lui Vantu, Realitatea Media si Catavencu SA, au fost actionate in judecata de numeroase firme, pe fondul acumularii unor mari datorii.
De altfel, pentru a se proteja de creditori, Catavencu SA a cerut Tribunalului Bucuresti intrarea in procedura de faliment, in conditiile in care a acumulat datorii de 20 milioane euro.
