Sorin Ovidiu Vintu, arestat pentru 29 de zile

Sorin Ovidiu Vintu, soferul sau Alexandru Stoian si prietenul basarabean Octavian Turcan au fost arestati, in noaptea de joi spre vineri, pentru 29 de zile, in urma deciziei Tribunalului Bucuresti. Ei sunt acuzaţi ca l-au sustinut cu bani pe Nicolae Popa, acesta fugind din Romania pentru a nu face 15 ani de puscarie primiti in dosarul FNI.
Decizia Tribunalului Bucuresti nu este definitiva, Vîntu şi complicii sai putand face recurs.
Procesul a inceput joi seara, la ora 22,00, a durat in jur de doua ore si s-a desfasurat cu usile inchise.
In referatul inaintat instantei, procurorii considera ca cei trei inculpati prezinta un pericol public, deoarece au zadarnicit si ingreunat executarea pedepsei de 15 ani inchisoare aplicata lui Nicolae Popa.
In plus, procurorii declara ca exista riscul ca cei trei, odata lasati in libertate, sa influenteze desfasurarea anchetei, prin asigurarea plecarii din tara a persoanelor care ar putea fi audiate.
‘Din datele cauzei rezulta ca exista riscul ca inculpatii sa influenteze desfasurarea procesului penal, folosind aceleasi mijloace utilizate si in legatura cu Nicolae Popa si Virgil Popa, respectiv asigurand plecarea din tara a persoanelor care ar putea fi audiate sau sustragandu-se de la judecata’, se arata in documentul Parchetului General.
Sorin Ovidiu Vintu, Octavian Turcan si Alexandru Stoian sunt acuzati ca i-au asigurat lui Nicolae Popa ‘un suport banesc atat de considerabil, incat probabil multi ani din viata i-ar putea petrece intr-un loc insorit, pe plaje exotice, cu sprijinul extrem de serios, mai ales material, al inculpatilor’.
Parchetul General mai sustine ca cei trei inculpati l-au sprijinit pe Nicolae Popa chiar si dupa ce acesta a fost arestat in Indonezia, desi aveau interdictii in acest sens, impuse in dosarul deschis in Romania. Astfel, ei au inceput sa vorbeasca cifrat la telefon, banii fiind numiti ‘cisterne’ sau ‘motorina’.
Tot in referatul procurorilor se arata ca Sorin Ovidiu Vintu a transferat, in octombrie 2009, 50.000 de euro intr-un cont bancar din Indonezia, la care Nicolae Popa avea acces, operatiunea fiind intermediata de Octavian Turcan.
De asemenea, in noiembrie 2009, Vintu a dispus ca Virgil Popa, fratele lui Nicolae Popa, sa primeasca 20.000 de euro, banii urmand sa ajunga la fostul director al Gelsor prin parintii acestuia, ce trebuiau sa-l viziteze in Indonezia.
Pe 3 decembrie 2009, Virgil Popa a fost perchezitionat de anchetatori, care au descoperit asupra lui cei 20.000 de euro si biletele de avion pe ruta Bucuresti – Istanbul – Singapore si retur.
In referatul procurorilor apar si stenograme ale convorbirilor telefonice purtate de Sorin Ovidiu Vintu si Nicolae Popa. Astfel, intr-o convorbire datata 9 octombrie 2009, Nicolae Popa ii cere lui Vintu suma de 43.000 euro, iar omul de afaceri ii promite 200.000 euro.
Anchetatorii au audiat-o si pe fiica lui Nicolae Popa, care le-a relatat procurorilor ca l-a vizitat, incepand cu 2007, de mai multe ori, pe tatal sau, ca acesta locuia in Bali, dar nu avea un loc de munca acolo.
Procurorii au efectuat joi perchezitii la locuintele lui Sorin Ovidiu Vintu, presedintelui Federatiei Sindicatelor Libere Petrom, Liviu Luca, omului de afaceri Octavian Turcan si Alexandru Stoian.
Cei patru au fost adusi pe rand la sediul Parchetului General pentru audieri, dupa care procurorii au emis ordonante de retinere de 24 de ore pe numele lui Vintu si al soferului acestuia, Alex Stoian, precum si in cazul omului de afaceri Octavian Turcan, in timp ce Liviu Luca a fost lasat liber.
