Liderul Asociatiei romilor refugiati din Romania, Costica Argint, va fi adus marti in tara, pentru a ispasi o condamnare de trei ani si sase luni de inchisoare. El a fost extradat din Italia si va ajunge sub escorta a Politiei Romane cu o cursa de la Roma, ce aterizeaza la ora 17.40, pe Aeroportul Otopeni.
Argint a devenit celebru dupa ce ce a aparut alaturi de fostul ministru de Externe Adrian Cioroianu si fostul premier Calin Popescu Tariceanu, in cursul unei vizite a acestora la Roma in 2007. Interlopul le-a reprosat celor doi oficiali romani ca nu se preocupa de soarta romilor plecati din tara. Dar le-a promis ca-i iarta si si-au strans mana cordial.
Costica Argint (53 de ani), originar din Focsani, a fost ani buni liderul lumii interlope vrancene.
In aprilie 1997, el a fost cercetat pentru ultraj contra bunelor moravuri, dupa ce ar fi intrat intr-un bar din comuna vranceana Gagesti, ar fi distrus mai multe bunuri si ar fi ranit grav doua persoane, spuneau surse din politie. In acelasi an, in timpul procesului, barbatul ar fi fugit din tara in Italia. In 2006, Costica Argint a reusit sa obtina statutul de azilant politic in Italia.
