Sorin Ovidiu Vintu a confirmat miercuri la Curtea de Apel Bucuresti ca probele si interceptarile care il incrimineaza sunt autentice. Intr-un discurs ce a sters din imaginea sa de om intangibil, in care a facut apel la citate din “Faust” de Goethe, Vintu i-a luat apararea lui Nicolae Popa, pe care il considera un prieten ce a suferit o condamnare nedreapta. Se considera un erou: a luptat cu Traian Basescu pentru modernizarea Romaniei si a fost infrant de SRI.
Confruntat cu spectrul unei lungi detentii, omul care a inselat 300.000 de oameni prin prabusirea FNI, a trecut la atac direct impotriva lui Traian Basescu. El a mizat si pe faptul ca judecatoarea Viorica Costiniu, cea care va decide practic daca ramane in arest, este un dusman declarat al actualului sef al statului.
“Imi pare rau sa va spun ca o suma de institutii a acestui stat nu fac altceva decat sa execute chefurile unui singur om. In 2007, la referendum-ul de suspendare a acestui om, vine si ma roaga sa-l sustin. Convenim impreuna o serie de noua principii privind modernizarea Romaniei, pe le-ati fi putut gasi pe site-ul prezidential. Constat dupa aceasta ca domnul incalca punct cu punct tot ceea ce convenisem. Ii atrag atentia o data, de doua ori. Ma trezesc cu emisari ai domniei sale care imi solicita nici mai mult, nici mai putin decat preluarea a unei parti din grupul meu media. Evident ca refuz. Din acel moment incep amenintarile. Si nu doar atat. Sunt amenintat ca vor fi facute publice discutiile dintre mine si jurnalistii acestui trust. Sunt amenintat ca vor fi date publicitatii. Nu cedez. Sunt amenintat ca voi fi blocat financiar. Nu cedez. Urmeaza un control de 8 luni de zile la ANAF”, declara Vintu pe un ton tot mai ascutit, pana ce judecatoarea Viorica Costiniu ii cere sa se calmeze.
“Distinsa doamna, nu realizez cat de tare se aude. Imi cer scuze”, ii raspunde omul care parea, in urma cu cateva luni, imposibil de atins de catre justitie.
Vintu a continuat spunand ca SRI-ul recruteaza procurori si ziaristi, care sunt transformati in ofiteri sub acoperire, iar bietul arestat este desfigurat. “Intai maltrateaza-ti adversarul desfigureaza-l, trateaza-l ca pe un monstru si apoi il poti ucide”, citeaza el din “Faust” de Goethe.
Din ce in ce mai surescitat, Vintu nu se dezice de Nicolae Popa, mana lui dreapta in fraudarea FNI, pe care il considera un prieten condamnat pe nedrept.
Pentru a arata cat este de generos, la final, el ii cere judecatoarei sa-i lase in libertate pe cei doi complici ai sai, Octavian Turcan (pe care-l lauda ca un mare bancher ce si-a facut studiile la Banca Centrala a Japoniei si a Americii) si pe Alex Stoian (amaratul lui de sofer).
