Jurnalistii britanici de la The Sunday Times s-au prezentat drept reprezentanti ai unei firme de lobby si l-au convins pe eurodeputatul roman Adrian Severin sa incheie un “contract de consultanta” platit. Severin le-a facturat 12.000 de euro pentru “servicii de consultanta referitoare la schema de depozite bancare” – proiect care se discuta in Parlamentul European.
Dezvaluirea apare in editia de duminica a ziarului The Sunday Times, care scrie ca trei deputati europeni si fosti ministri – un roman, un sloven si un austriac – s-au declarat dispusi sa-si “vanda serviciile” pentru sume de pana la 100.000 de euro unor jurnalisti de la cotidianul amintit.
Cei vizati de ancheta jurnalistilor sunt romanul Adrian Severin, fostul ministru sloven de Externe Zoran Thaler si un fost ministru austriac de Interne, Ernst Strasser.
Adrian Severin, membru al Grupului Socialistilor si Democratilor, a trimis un mesaj falsilor lobby-isti. “Numai pentru ca sa va aduc la cunostinta ca amendamentul pe care il doriti a fost depus la timp”, arata europarlamentarul. Putin dupa aceea, el a trimis o factura de 12.000 de euro pentru “servicii de consiliere”, rmai noteaza AFP.
Dupa ce Sunday Times a dezvaluit identitatea celor trei asa-zisi lobbysti, Adrian Severin a asigurat ca nu a facut nimic ilegal, iar celialti doi europarlamentari au sustinut ca stiau inca de la inceput ca era o actiune a unor ziaristi si ca ei au vrut doar sa vada pana unde va ajunge demersul jurnalistilor.
Zoran Thaler, fost ministru sloven de Externe, a prezentat si el un amendament, cerand ulterior ca banii sa ii fie trimisi in contul unei firme cu sediul la Londra. “Nu se pune problema sa dezvalui asa ceva”, a declarat el.
Un al treilea deputat, fostul ministru austriac de Interne, Ernst Strasser, le-a declarat jurnalistilor: “Eu sunt un lobbyist”, inainte de a prezenta un proiect de amendament celor doi colegi ai sai dintr-o comisie resposabila cu legislatia respectiva. Un compromis a fost obtinut in favoarea lobbyistilor, a dat asigurari Strasser. Deputatul a cerut sa i se plateasca o prima transa de 25.000 de euro in contul unei firme pe care o detine in Austria.
Contactata de Sunday Times, vicepresedinta Parlamentului European, Diana Wallis, a promis o ancheta. “Acest lucru trebuie sa faca obiectul unei anchete aprofundate”, a declarat ea.
