Update: Mohammed Munaf, pus in libertate in Irak

Mohammad Munaf a fost eliberat din puscarie de autoritatile irakiene, iar oficialitatile de la Bucuresti vor incerca extradarea sa in Romania, unde este condamnat definitiv la 10 ani de inchisoare pentru complicitate la rapirea celor trei jurnalisti romani, in 2005. Insa, aducerea sa in tara este aproape imposibila, deoarece nu exista un tratat de extradarea cu Irakul.
Exista si posibilitatea ca Munaf sa plece in SUA deoarece detine si cetatenie americana. Acesta a fost arestat in 2005 de autoritatile americane pe teritoriul irakian si transferat in inchisorile de dincolo de ocean.
Insa, in vara anului trecut, avocatul lui Munaf, Aziz Huq a anuntat ca acesta a fost tranferat in custodia irakienilor. Atunci, 1300 de detinuti de la Camp Bucca, arestati de americani au fost predati oficialilor de la Bagdad.
Munaf s-a revoltat de decizia SUA, sustinand ca ar putea fi torturat de irakieni. Insa, dupa numai 1 an de zile, Mohammed Munaf a fost eliberat din inchisoare. El a fost condamnat in Romania la 10 ani de puscarie, in dosarul rapirii lui Ovidiu Ohanesian, Marie Jeanne Ion si Sorin Piscoci. In acelasi dosar a mai fost condamnat si Omar Hayssam la 25 de ani de puscarie, insa acesta a fugit, cu complicitatea autoritatilor romanesti, in Siria.
Update: Ministerul Justitiei a anuntat ca Mohammad Munaf este dat in urmarire internationala prin Interpol, fiind condamnat definitv pentru terorism si ca nu a fost anuntat de autoritatile din Irak ca l-ar fi eliberat pe acesta din puscarie.
