Doi tineri din Cernavoda, sot si sotie, s-au sinucis, luni, aruncandu-se in apele Dunării de pe un dig al canalului Dunare-Marea Neagra. Din primele informatii, Gabriela si Bogdan Mitu au ajuns in zona digului cu o masină, pe care apoi au abandonat-o pe malul Canalului, in zona numita „betoane“.
“Sesizarea a fost facuta la ora 14:40, la postul Politiei Navale din Cernavoda. Cineva a sunat pentru ca a vazut un Opel parcat pe malul stang al Canalului Dunare-Marea Neagra, la kilometrul 61,5. Din masina au coborat doua persone care s-au tinut de mana si s-au aruncat in apa”, a declarat Bogdan Paduraru, purtator de cuvant al IPJ Constanta.
Trupul tinerei a fost recuperat din apa de o salupa a societatii Transporturi Navale Cernavoda si a fost dus la morga din Medgidia pentru necropsie.
