RCS&RDS vrea sa cumpere UPC, pentru 300 milioane dolari

Preluarea UPC trebuie insa sa aiba acceptul Consiliului Concurentei.
Conform unor surse de pe piata, Teszari – care detine 43% din RCS&RDS – este in proces de selectie a bancii de investitie, care trebuie sa-i asigure finantarea pentru aceasta tranzactie, care, daca s-ar realiza, ar schimba fundamental toata piata telecom romaneasca, extrem de fragmentata si cu o concurenta acerba. Ceilalti actionari ai RCS&RDS sunt fondurile de investitii Epic si Quadrant si cativa oameni de afaceri romani si manageri ai firmei.
De la inceputul anului trecut, Teszari este in discutii cu mari banci de investiii printre care Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse şi Morgan Stanley pentru structurarea unei asemenea tranzactii. Bancherii ar trebui să-i ofere RCS&RDS o companie cu venituri care depasesc 700 de milioane de dolari, finantare atat pentru achizitie, cat si pentru reesalonarea datoriilor care trebuie platite de RCS&RDS in perioada urmatoare.
Liberty Global, actionarul UPC, a angajat anul trecut banca de investitii Rothschild pentru gasirea unei solutii pentru UPC Romania, care a cumparat in anul 2004 operatorul local de cablu Astral cu 400 de milioane de dolari.
